Benefits:

  • Helps prevent baby blues & postpartum depression.

  • Decreases postpartum bleeding & reduces risk of postpartum hemorrhaging.

  • Regulates postpartum hormones.

  • Increases energy & decreases fatigue.

  • Increases postnatal iron level & prevents anemia.

Investment: $280 flat rate + Delivery Fee

At Sacred Blossoms Birth & Wellness Co., we honor the sacred role of the placenta in postpartum healing. For encapsulation, we use the Traditional Chinese Method (TCM), as it is one of the safest and most widely respected practices.

In this process, the placenta is gently steamed with lemon, ginger, and cayenne pepper until it reaches an internal temperature of 240°F. By preparing the placenta in this way, we ensure that most placentas are safe and viable for encapsulation.

Important Health Considerations:

This process does not remove or make safe certain viruses such as HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B & C. For this reason, placenta encapsulation is not safe if you have ever been diagnosed with these conditions. Your safety and well-being will always remain our highest priority.

I provide placenta pick-up from your hospital or birth center and deliver your capsules back to your home. A $25 delivery fee applies for deliveries 25+ miles from my office. Pick up and delivery are available daily from 8am to 5pm.

Take a small cooler with you and your delivery care team will bag your placenta and provide you ice. Text me when you go into labor and again once your placenta is ready for pick-up. I’ll provide an ETA, and your partner or support person will meet me at the hospital or birth center entrance with your cooler.

Keeping Your Placenta

You do not need your doctor’s permission to keep your placenta—it is your right! When you arrive at your birthing facility, simply let your care team know that you plan to take your placenta home. Most hospitals will provide a release form and bag it for you. If you’re planning a cesarean birth, remind your team you wish to keep your placenta since it is often discarded automatically.
